Nassau, Bahamas – As a result of a procurement exercise in May 2013, which was carried out and guided by the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB) procedures for national bidding, public relations and advertising firm, Barefoot Marketing, was awarded a four-year contract to lead the public relations activities on behalf of the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC).

The firm will be tasked with improving the relationship between the WSC and residents, and expanding the Corporation’s customer base to ensure successful 
implementation of the WSC Support Program.

Barefoot Marketing will assist the Corporation in delivering the objectives of the WSC Support Program. “Our team is looking forward to working with the WSC,” said Katherine Smith, Project Director Barefoot Marketing. “We have had great preliminary strategy meetings and are looking forward to the implementation of the WSC plan to regain its market share.”

The WSC executed an $81 million dollar loan with IDB in December of 2011 for the purpose of improving the efficiency and quality of services provision of potable water; to address immediate problems with sanitation in New Providence; to prepare for the implementation of an economic and environmental regulation; and to create and support the corresponding regulatory entities. 

Barefoot Marketing’s focus is geared toward improving the company’s communication with its customers via an improved interactive website, social media and other public relations initiatives.
