WATER AND SEWERAGE CORPORATION Committed to Growth, Committed to Quality

Announcements

Nassau, New Providence – During a recent visit to Island FM’s ‘Morning Boil’ talk show, the Water & Sewerage Corporation (WSC)

Promotions department took time out to discuss their ongoing work to improve their product and services. WSC has undertaken several steps to improve not only the quality and strength of the water it provides but have also begun the work to improve the corporation’s customer service as well.

The WSC Corporation now offers real time response to client issues, allows easier payment for services through online payments and email billing, as well as launching its own WSC Moblie App late last year.  Using a revamped social media strategy and improved client communications using traditional media outlets, the PR team communicates daily with clients via the world-wide web and took the opportunity last week to take that message to the airwaves as guests on Island FM’s popular morning show – Morning Boil – with hosts Eddie and Sannie.

“We are a very media savvy society and so one of the things the corporation has really tried to take advantage of in terms of getting our message out to the public has been radio” said WSC Public Affairs Manager, Visna Armbrister. “We have also stepped up our game in the social media world to speak to our clients daily with any news or updates,” she added. “The Water & Sewerage Corporation was one few utilities that were able to maintain our service during the passage of Hurricane Matthew and we are extremely proud of that fact and the responses we had on our Facebook page.”

In addition to providing greater value for money through its numerous savings promotions, the corporation has reinstated its community outreach initiatives.  “One of the things we’re especially proud of is our annual Essay and Video competition which engages young people in our communities” said Devin Griffin, WSC PR assistant. “The concept is to ensure that everyone, especially our young people understand how their use of water can have a wider impact on the world.” Recently the corporation awarded the top three students from both the essay and video categories with prizes and college scholarships at a special ceremony held at the Water & Sewerage Corporation last month.

The team also announced that customers of WSC can expect to see several initiatives roll out in the coming weeks; some of which will result in direct savings for new customers and others which have a broader community impact. “Following the tremendous success of the corporation’s ‘Make the Switch’ and ‘Ditch the Well’ campaigns which saw thousands of customers resume service and start new services with the corporation,” said Armbrister. “WSC has resumed its 50% discount for returning and new customers until November 2017.”
