Welcome to the Bahamas Water & Sewerage Corporation’s website.  We hope that you find our website easy to navigate and informative. This website includes information on every aspect of the Corporation including customer service and reverse osmosis  technology, which is the way forward in providing a higher quality of water supply to our customers.  We also provide important information about private wells.

For those of you doing research papers, the site provides information on the Corporation's history and includes details on water and waste water.

Additionally, you will find information on our vision and mission statement, the board of directors, executive management, and their respective divisionsand a host of other key information.

REVERSE OSMOSIS INITIATIVE

Our water supply is changing to meet consumer needs and increased demand. Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants are  being introduced, throughout The Bahamas, to supplement or replace groundwater sources, particularly in the southeastern islands that are much drier. Some islands are challenged with inadequate fresh water supplies and seasonal drought. The Corporation is moving to reduce the vulnerability of the water supply. Today there are   RO plants and more are being planned. See Future Plans for details.

Other measures include:

  • Increasing water storage and ensuring storage facilities are filled prior to storms and hurricanes.
  • Using standby generators at pumping stations to limit disruption in electricity supply; and
  • Improve protection of transmission or distribution lines in areas subject to storm surge or flood damage. .....MORE.
